Bicycle Accidents in Rhode Island

Bicycling is a popular way to get around in Rhode Island, whether for recreation, commuting, or exercise. However, cyclists face serious risks when sharing the road with motor vehicles. Even a low-speed collision can leave a bicyclist with severe injuries due to

their lack of protection compared to drivers.

One common type of injury from a bicycle crash involves lacerations and cuts. In this case, a hand injury can lead to lasting complications, especially if tendons or nerves are affected. Other frequent injuries include broken bones, head trauma, and spinal injuries. These can leave victims facing long recoveries, medical expenses, and time away from work.

Data shows that many bicycle crashes occur on busy local roads, often near shopping areas, schools, or restaurants. Tiogue Ave, where this accident happened, is a heavily traveled stretch, making it a risk zone for cyclists. Drivers who fail to pay attention, fail to yield, or follow too closely are often the cause of such incidents. Distracted driving, speeding, and poor visibility are also contributing factors.

When a bicyclist is injured in a crash, insurance companies may not always offer fair compensation. Victims may be left dealing with high medical bills, physical therapy, and lost wages. This is where an experienced Rhode Island bicycle accident lawyer can make a difference. A lawyer can investigate the circumstances of the crash, work with medical professionals to document injuries, and fight for the compensation victims deserve.

Compensation in bicycle accident cases can cover medical expenses, future care needs, lost income, and the pain and suffering caused by the trauma. In some cases, victims may also recover damages for emotional distress. Each case is unique, but legal guidance helps ensure victims and their families are not left alone in the aftermath.
