Cranston, RI (September 13, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on Friday, September 12, left one driver injured on the Route 10 southbound exit ramp near South Street in Cranston.
The collision happened early in the morning when a vehicle struck a gray Honda CR-V on the ramp. The impact forced the Honda into a barrier, leaving it with heavy front-end damage.
Cranston Police and Fire Department crews responded within minutes to provide aid. Paramedics treated the injured Honda driver before transporting them to a local hospital.
Officials said the driver was alert at the scene, though the severity of their injuries has not been confirmed. The second driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The ramp was closed briefly while crews cleared the wreck. Traffic resumed once the vehicles were removed.
The Cranston Police Department continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
Our thoughts are with the injured driver and their loved ones during recovery. We wish them a full and swift recovery.
Car Accidents in Rhode Island

Crashes like the one on Route 10 show how quickly an ordinary trip can turn dangerous. Rhode Island roads, especially busy corridors through Cranston and Providence, see thousands of collisions each year. Exit ramps and intersections are particularly prone to crashes when traffic is heavy or drivers are distracted.
Some of the most common causes of Rhode Island car accidents include:
Distracted Driving: Looking at a phone, adjusting a GPS, or taking eyes off the road even briefly can trigger a crash.
Speeding: Excessive speed reduces reaction time and often makes accidents more severe.
Impaired Driving: Alcohol and drugs remain a leading cause of serious crashes across the state.
Dangerous Conditions: Rain, fog, and slippery pavement increase risks when drivers do not slow down.
The aftermath of an accident can be overwhelming. Many victims require emergency care, surgeries, or long-term rehabilitation. Beyond physical pain, many families face mounting medical bills and the hardship of lost income.
Insurance companies frequently complicate matters further by trying to minimize payouts. Victims often accept quick settlements that do not cover the full cost of their injuries.
This is why working with an experienced Rhode Island car accident lawyer is so important. A skilled attorney can protect your rights, negotiate with insurers, and fight for the compensation you deserve.
