Tractor-Trailer Accidents in Rhode Island
Large truck accidents, including those involving tractor trailers, are a significant safety concern in Rhode Island. Highways like I-195 see heavy truck traffic every day, increasing the risk of serious collisions. When a passenger vehicle collides with a tractor-trailer, the smaller

vehicle often takes the brunt of the damage. This can result in severe or even life-threatening injuries.
Injuries from tractor trailer crashes often include broken bones, head trauma, spinal cord injuries, and internal damage. Even when victims survive, the physical and emotional toll can last for months or years. Recovery often requires hospitalization, surgeries, physical therapy, and time away from work, which can put a heavy financial burden on families.
Accidents like the one on the Washington Bridge often happen for preventable reasons. Driver fatigue, distracted driving, and speeding are among the most common causes. Mechanical failures, such as brake problems or tire blowouts, can also contribute. Weather and road conditions may increase the danger, but negligence is frequently a factor.
Rhode Island law gives accident victims the right to seek compensation when another party’s negligence causes harm. In truck accidents, liability can involve multiple parties, including the driver, the trucking company, and sometimes maintenance providers. Because of this, these cases are often complex.
A truck accident attorney in Providence can help victims navigate these challenges. A lawyer can gather critical evidence, work with accident reconstruction experts, and handle negotiations with insurance companies. Legal representation gives victims the best chance to secure fair compensation for medical costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
