Pedestrian Accidents in Rhode Island

Pedestrian safety continues to be a serious concern throughout Rhode Island. In recent years, busy intersections and high-traffic roadways like Massasoit Ave have seen a rise in

ree

pedestrian-related crashes. A significant portion of these accidents involve drivers who fail to yield, speed through intersections, or become distracted while behind the wheel.

One of the most troubling types of pedestrian accidents is the hit-and-run. Victims not only face the physical pain of injuries but also the emotional strain of knowing the responsible driver fled.

This often leaves victims and their families dealing with medical bills and uncertainty about who will cover the costs. Rhode Island law requires drivers to remain at the scene and provide assistance, but unfortunately, not all drivers follow this responsibility.

Common injuries from pedestrian accidents range from broken bones and head trauma to long-lasting soft tissue damage. Even when survivors recover physically, many face ongoing anxiety and difficulty crossing streets or walking near traffic. These emotional scars are just as real as physical wounds and can take years to heal.

After a pedestrian accident, victims may be entitled to compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering. In cases where the driver flees, victims may still have options through uninsured motorist coverage or by pursuing a legal claim once the driver is identified. A skilled pedestrian accident lawyer in Rhode Island can help victims navigate these challenges, gather evidence, and work with insurance companies to secure fair results.

If you or someone you love has been injured in a pedestrian accident in Rhode Island, it’s important to understand your rights and take action quickly. Speaking with an attorney early on can help protect your claim and improve your chances of securing the compensation you need.
