Foxboro, MA (July 5, 2025) – A crash early Saturday morning claimed the life of one person on Interstate 95 northbound near Exit 15. On July 5, Massachusetts State Police were called to the scene of a collision involving a red sport utility vehicle and a silver sport utility vehicle. A nurse passing by the scene did everything possible to help, using their training to care for the victim before first responders arrived. Sadly, the victim did not survive.

Video from the site showed a mangled vehicle being lifted onto a tow truck while debris littered the roadway. The collision forced police and the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office to temporarily shut down the northbound lanes so they could investigate what led to this heartbreaking loss. Crews worked for hours to examine evidence and clear the area.

Detectives are now working to piece together how the crash happened and whether any other factors played a role. Authorities have not yet shared the identities of those involved, as they continue notifying family members and gathering additional details. No other injuries have been confirmed, but police are asking anyone with information to come forward to help with their investigation.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the loved ones of the person who lost their life in this accident.

Car Accidents in Massachusetts

Serious crashes like this remain a stark reminder of the risks drivers face across Massachusetts. Each year, thousands of people are injured or killed on the state’s roads, from major highways like Interstate 95 to smaller local streets. These incidents can bring not only physical harm but also emotional and financial hardships that linger long after the wreckage is cleared. Drivers can help protect themselves and others by staying alert and cautious every time they get behind the wheel. Understanding what contributes to crashes like this may help families stay more aware:

  • Distracted Driving: Texting, eating, or adjusting controls takes focus off the road. It only takes a second for a driver to miss a hazard or fail to react in time. Families affected by distracted driving often face long recoveries or the loss of a loved one.

  • Speeding: Driving faster than conditions allow shortens reaction times and increases the force of any impact. Speed-related crashes tend to cause severe injuries or death, leaving survivors needing extensive care.

  • Impaired Driving: Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs remains a major cause of crashes in Massachusetts. Impaired drivers endanger everyone nearby and can shatter families when accidents happen.

  • Weather Conditions: Rain, snow, and fog create slick roads and poor visibility. Drivers must adjust speed and keep their distance to prevent losing control or colliding with others.

When someone is hurt or killed in a crash, it is crucial to connect with a trusted personal injury attorney as soon as possible. Acting quickly helps preserve evidence and gives you the best chance of protecting your rights and future. While you focus on healing or supporting loved ones, your attorney will handle the legal side — investigating, negotiating with insurance companies, and fighting for fair compensation.
