Car Accidents in Rhode Island

Rhode Island highways experience a steady number of collisions every year, especially on busy interstates like I-295. High-speed zones and merging areas can pose serious risks to motorists when distractions, weather, or vehicle malfunctions come into play. Here’s what drivers should know about crashes on the state’s highways:
Shoulder and Lane Closures Create Secondary Risks: When crashes block lanes or shoulders, nearby drivers face heightened collision risk. Quick response and traffic redirection are critical to preventing additional accidents.
Speed and Highway Impact: Accidents on highways often result in more serious injuries due to the force of high-speed impacts. These crashes can lead to head trauma, spinal injuries, and long-term recovery needs.
Emergency Access and Delays: Interstate collisions can make it difficult for first responders to reach the scene. Drivers should always move over for emergency vehicles and stay alert for sudden lane changes.
Multiple Vehicle Involvement: Crashes on highways often involve chain reactions or multi-vehicle pileups. Determining fault may require a detailed investigation including dashcams, eyewitnesses, and traffic camera footage.
If you’ve been hurt in a highway crash, it’s important to contact a personal injury attorney as soon as possible. A lawyer can help protect your rights, gather critical documentation, and pursue the compensation you need for your recovery.
