Rollover Accidents in Massachusetts
Rollover crashes like the one that occurred in Newburyport are among the most serious types of car accidents. These incidents often involve high forces and unpredictable vehicle movement, which greatly increase the risk of serious injury. While they are less common than rear-end or side-impact collisions, rollovers account for a large share of serious trauma

cases on Massachusetts highways.
Rollover accidents can be caused by many factors. Speeding, distracted driving, sudden swerving, or striking uneven road surfaces can all lead to a loss of control. SUVs and pickup trucks, which have higher centers of gravity, are more likely to tip over during sharp maneuvers or when they hit road barriers. In some cases, tire blowouts or mechanical failures also play a role.
In Massachusetts, where icy winters and congested roads add risk, rollovers can happen both on highways and local streets. Victims of these accidents may suffer injuries such as spinal cord damage, broken bones, head trauma, and internal injuries. In many situations, people are trapped in the vehicle and need to be rescued by first responders. Even after medical treatment, long-term recovery may require physical therapy, time off work, and emotional support.
If you or a loved one is injured in a rollover crash, seeking legal help is essential. A personal injury attorney can investigate the cause of the accident, preserve evidence, and deal with insurance companies that may try to minimize your claim. You may be entitled to compensation for medical costs, pain and suffering, lost wages, and other damages. The sooner you take action, the better your chances of protecting your rights and securing the support you need.
